I just found out that my 6 year old daughters (estranged) father is dead- Do I tell her now or later?

i say wait until she gets older (10?) AND starts asking about him. I wouldn't volunteer it-wait for her to ask. If sh'e asking now, just say he had an acident and went to heaven. You can elaborate when she's older.
