Chairman Mao was responsible for more deaths than either Hitler or Stalin -- but why is this not generally....?

Because it was peacetime- there was no major international conflict to draw attention to it. also, russia, and Stalin were in the west, while China is in the east. Relations were non-existent between China and the rest of the world while the deaths took place.
