Why is calling President Obama a "chimp" considered racist?

I don't think it is. After all Ronald Reagan also was called a chimp because he was in a movie with a chimp. I think any time you call a minority any name, people always want to play the race card, no matter what. Ever notice that if you didn't vote for Obama, then you automatically were called a racists. What a shame from those who say they are open minded.
