What architectural sites buried in a volcanic eruption were excavated in the eighteenth century?

The only one I can think of is Pompeii, Italy. It was buried when Mt Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, and was "discovered" in 1748. Here's a link to wikipedia for some basic info:
